Full-TimeGO Topeka, Inc. and the Greater Topeka Partnership are excited to fill the role of Senior Vice President of Innovation. This role will lead the charge to attract, retain and grow innovative startups and small businesses for our community. The ideal candidate has a strong vision toward innovation, a passion for entrepreneurship and an eye for finding opportunities on the horizon that aren’t currently on the radar.
Innovation has been a primary initiative of GO Topeka and the Partnership since 2016 and a major accomplishment within the community’s economic development strategy, Momentum 2022. Working under the leadership of an Innovation Advisory Board and GO Topeka, you will help position Topeka as a leader in economic development, as well as provide leadership and fill Topeka’s new vision of being a hub of innovation with an emphasis in Animal Health, Agriculture Technology and Bio-Sciences. A central part of the strategy is the further establishment of the ASTRA Innovation Campus as well as the development and expansion of world-class programming like the Plug and Play accelerator. Plug and Play is the world’s leading network consisting of 30,000+ startups, 500+ leading corporations, and hundreds of venture capital firms across multiple industries and they have selected Topeka as the home for their animal health vertical. With Topeka’s new emphasis on innovation and entrepreneurship as a tool to create jobs and attract capital investments, this role will directly engage all facets of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, including growth oriented small businesses, startups and innovative organizations.
Greater Topeka Partnership (The Partnership) is a collaborative organization which brings together community organizations invested in economic development and quality of life in Topeka & Shawnee County. The Partnership’s model allows for shared resources and expertise to work on the common goal of economic prosperity for the region. Their total budget is $10 million.
The Greater Topeka Partnership’s mission is to be the catalyst for economic prosperity within our community. The organization has gained international attention for its aggressive and innovative economic development strategies. To achieve our goals, we hold tightly to these core values:

Full-TimeThe Redevelopment Project Manager collaborates with the business development team at GO Topeka and the staff at both the City of Topeka and Shawnee County to facilitate catalytic development for the City's downtown areas, neighborhoods, and underutilized areas . The right candidate is a highly organized, efficient, and self-motivated professional who communicates effectively and provides top-notch customer service to neighborhoods, districts, and prospective developers. This position fosters relationships and helps to attract and manage catalytic redevelopment projects to redevelop sites to their best and highest use. Training and experience in economic development, planning, preservation, commercial real estate, incentives, and neighborhood/district citizen dynamics is essential.
Although we seek a professional with the education and background to hit the ground running, our primary focus is to find a teammate who will live our core values and partner with the GTP team with energy and passion. Successful candidates must also demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the business community in Topeka and Shawnee County, as well as, and excellent interpersonal and presentational skills. A background in real state is preferred, but not required.
